Chapter Fourteen

Holden

As I swept Rian into my arms, I glanced at the view mostly covered in darkness. Suddenly, large flakes of snow began to fall. They were sparse, but it was that early moment of snowfall making it all look cinematic.

The chill in the air made itself known now that I wasn’t lost in one of the best sexual experiences of my life. I moved to the door and slid it open, happy with how easy that was to do while carrying Rian. I didn’t want to put him down unless the surface was soft, after all.

I left the balcony door open and went to place Rian on his bed, then pulled the covers over him. I’d turned the bed down when I’d gotten the lube and I’d realized where he was waiting to be caught.

I quickly went to close the door, then walked to the ensuite to start the bath. He had a tub that would fit us both, so it would do well for some TLC while he was coming down from his release.

As I prepared the bathroom, my brain kept replaying the last hour. The way I’d stalked him through the apartment had gone straight to my blood and my cock. But the best thing had still been the enjoyment Rian had gotten out of it. I’d practically felt the remnants of all the bad things from tonight shake off him with every vicious thrust.

He’d clearly enjoyed it all even though he had gotten a bit floaty ever since I slammed inside him for the first time. Pain really did something to him, that much was easy to see.

I didn’t know why I hadn’t come inside him when I had the chance. Some primal part of me had wanted to mark him in a different way. Even now when I went to pick him up again, the scent of sex clinging to him was dizzying.

My cock tried to rally, but even with being a wolf, my refractory period was a bit longer now. Don’t get me wrong, I’d be ready to go in fifteen minutes, but that had changed in the twenty years since I’d been turned.

The beginning had been wild. Just as I’d settled into being forty and not being able to do things I had only a decade before, I’d felt as if I was twenty again.

I scooped Rian up and he stirred ever so slightly.

“W-huh?”

“I’m taking you into the bathroom, honey.” I smiled at his fuzzy expression.

“Oh. ‘Kay.”

Chuckling, I carried him to the large, luxurious room.
